Devens Gust
Welcome to the home page of Devens Gust, Foundation Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Arizona State University. Our research group is interested in artificial photosynthesis. We prepare and study organic molecules that mimic photosynthetic energy and electron transfer processes. By doing this, we find out more about how photosynthesis works. In addition, the scientific principles we investigate may be used to design new chemical systems for solar energy harvesting, biomimetic conversion of light energy to chemical energy in the form of transmembrane proton gradients or ATP, molecular electronics and optoelectronics, and medical imaging applications.
